Meet the team

Rowena Carr-Allinson With a mixed European background, Rowena quickly came to feel home was wherever she lay her hat. Starting out her career at the Financial Times, she moved on to sports reporting and producing interactive content for TV shows and Hollywood movies in London before settling into writing full time. Her travel stories and reviews have appeared everywhere from the UK to South Africa via Australia – in everything from the Toronto Star to London’s Metro, CityAM, Harpers Bazaar, Elle, OK! Magazine and the ‘1001 Escapes’ book. She even blogged her honeymoon for Cntraveller.com! She’s shopped in Istanbul, biked down a volcano in Hawaii, gone unplugged in Nicaragua, driven across the Southern USA, eaten out in Dubai’s finest restaurants, and she still hasn’t had enough. Her two-year-old son is very well travelled, having seen Bangkok, NY, LA, Dubrovnik, Rome, Singapore and more…

Dominique Afacan Dominique has been editing magazines for over ten years and by some lucky coincidence, all of them have revolved around travel. This decade of exposure to the world's best hotels, restaurant, spas, bars and more has left her horribly spoilt but equally well qualified to dish out the latest luxury lifestyle news for magazines all over the world. In 2008 she relocated from London to Hong Kong where she headed up the Ink Global offices, publishing in-flight titles across Asia and in 2010 she moved to Info/nation, also in Hong Kong, where she edited two of the city's leading luxury titles, The Reserve and LOFT. Since 2014 she's been dividing her time between London and Mallorca and freelancing for international travel titles. She remains editor-at-large for both of her Hong Kong titles.
